The IRJ Undergraduate Network

Here we outline the best ways for university radiology societies to get involved with interventional radiology & IR Juniors. One way we work with university radiology societies to increase opportunities for medical students is to work on collaborative projects together. We are currently developing proposals on future collaborative projects. If you are a radiology society interested in joining this network, then please do get in touch with our Engagement Lead.

Getting involved as a university radiology society

Organise an IR Event

We think the first step for an undergraduate radiology society to get involved in IR is to organise an event! A good first step would be to arrange a specialty talk or careers evening with a registrar/consultant from your local IR department. IR Juniors can help you think of event ideas & find speakers through the IRJ/BSIRT network if you are finding this difficult!

Set up an IR conference

IR Conferences are a fantastic way to get medical students interested in the specialty. A conference brings together interventional radiologists as well as industry partners & academics in one place. There are a number of medical student IR conferences across the country, including the London conference (IRUS), YiIRS and RiiSE.

If you want to run a local or regional IR conference, then get in touch with us! The IR Juniors team along with BSIRT can help with all aspects of running a conference, including the programme, finding speakers and industry partnerships.

Join the IR Juniors Network

IR Juniors is passionate about collaboration within radiology & interventional radiology. If you are keen to collaborate with other radiology societies in your region & across the country, then we would encourage your society to join the IR Juniors network!
