Dr Clarisse de Vries

Dr Clarisse de Vries is a lecturer at the University of Glasgow. She works on the development and testing of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for breast cancer screening, aiming to make sure that AI in healthcare is safe and benefits everyone. Before her appointment in Glasgow, she was a Research Fellow at the University of Aberdeen, where she contributed her data science expertise to the evaluation of an AI breast screening tool called MIA. Her work has been published in scientific journals and noted by popular news outlets, including the BBC. She received the Rising Star Award at the 2024 UK Advancing Healthcare Awards, recognising her contributions to this emerging field.
